This dress is part of a set that I have from a client who decided to keep the coat. Having seen the coat I know that it is a Dior but the dress is unlabelled. It is a gorgeous little piece that is super well made and so representative of its era. I love it.

This dress is so simple and yet cut so beautifully. It has a sleek and simple shape that skims over the body and comes in slightly as it nears the hem. Clever and subtle seams shape the dress around you so that it is very flattering. It has no sleeves and the neck scoops down just a bit at the front. Vertical seams help to shape it over the bust as it skims over you to the low dropped waist seam. It curves in slightly just above that for a touch of shape that I love. The skirt is gathered in around that waist seam and then curves out and over the hips to fall to about the knee depending on your height. The fabric is beautiful. It is a black silk brocade that has a subtle ribbing for texture. It has a floral design woven into the fabric that covers the entire dress for a black on black pattern. The thread flowers catch the light differently and it is fabulous in person. And there is pockets on each hip. Excellent condition

Partly lined through the upper bodice and the rest of the dress is unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. Hand finishes. Pockets on each hip
